It's fine as long as it's moving. It actually ok when idling around too but when the outside temps were in the 100+ range and I was stuck in stop and go that's when things went all bad. Seems like the issue could be solved by evacuating all the hot air from the engine compartment. I think if I can force enough air under the hood to blow the overheated air out it might just do the trick. Hence the high speed fan.
