a little maskin and detail ..... and a little felpro goop on the timing cover to intake dougnut ....
always snug the timing cover to intake bolt first ... just snug ... then tighten intake bolts....
rumor has it those coils like to stand up and not lay on their sides also ....
can you get another 1/2 turn on the vacuum tree to aim towards the firewall ?
clean all gasket surfaces with scotch brite and quality brake clean then wipe with clean cloth wetted with brake clean and assemble
gotta get all the antifreeze and all the surfaces recleaned .......
bummer but an easy fix
at least you didnt bust the corner of the intake off where ther was no gasket

You sir are the freaking man!! I did in fact have the gasket on the wrong way. Rookie mistake!! Its my first time fixing up an old classic so I am learning a LOT along the way. Thank you guys for the help! I have a ton more to do so I'm sure there will be more rookie questions to come.
