What I was trying to show in my photo was the bends in that lower hose. I cannot get under the car right now to see if I can see the connection. I tried a mirror but just could not get it positioned to see the clamp area of the hose. Another time that I wish I had a snake camera.

What I did notice in your photo is that it appears that the hose just fits between the inner fender and evaporator case. Maybe it's just an optical illusion. Mine has a lot of slack for the hose in that area, probably a half inch extra space.

I just don't recall any problem with mine kinking the last time I worked on it but it's been a long time ago. I know my problem was working through a small opening in the well.
