First a little history. I have a 69 coupe 4 speed with a fresh 455. The car ran great no problems. I just installed a set of headman headers and Pypes cross flow exhaust. To install the headers I had to remove the starter and clutch leakage. I removed the motor mount bolt on the driver side. I jacked the motor by placing a pipe under the block where the starter bolts. When I lower the motor back down the motor must have shifted to the rear. I loosened the trans mounting bolts jack the motor again and lined it back up. The exhaust I welded and installed clamps. Everything looks good except the return spring for the clutch hits the header. The header is also right next to the steering column mounting bracket. This is the bracket that trans reverse rod is connected. Now for the problem.
Everything sounds good when I start the car. When I drive it sounds like the trans gears ar going to fall out. It is bad in 1st real bad in 2nd and 3rd. I did not try 4th. I do not see anything rubbing. Has anyone ever run into this problem any help would be appreciated.
