(A) tap the threads deeper into the body and use a fuel fitting with more threads. (B) there was a company producing a tap with the same pitch but 1/64 inch greater diameter. This tap would tap the original threads oversize, and a fitting with oversize threads was available. Do not know if the tap is still available at this time. (C) the most expensive, but also the most permanent fix - helicoil.
We highly suggest the use of an inline filter BEFORE the fuel pump; and NOT changing the filter in the carburetor.
If the fuel filter MUST be changed, ALWAYS use two wrenches on the filter nut and fuel line.
