The Ventura would have came with a Pontiac v-8 as an option. With this in mind, it should not matter what body you put the subframe on. I have heard of having the header hit the steering box, it is common. You need to put a small dent in the header for clearance. Why did you change subframes? Was the other one bent? Maybe that is your reason for the difference in sub frames.
