I had to remove the chrome on a vent wing on my '66 Le Mans. A two week soak in kerosene in the parts washer softened the setting tape back up so it could be pulled off with reasonable effort. As the vent wing chrome wraps around 2 sides of the glass, it was perhaps a bit tougher than the Firebird quarter glass would be.
