Actually there are major benefit to using a quality Synthetic oil... as has been discussed on this list as well as most any lists...

I personally have used Amsoil for 20 years now in most all of my vehicles... many of which have made it well past the 250K mark thanks to Amsoil!

All I'm saying is you owe it to yourself and your cars to check the facts yourself. I'm not trying to sell anyone, but just a few of the benefits are slightly better power and performance (you can use a much lighter oil with much higher protection) better fuel economy, longer lasting engines and components, reduced heat and the list goes on, etc...

But, there are times when you don't want to use a quality Synthetic, like on a fresh rebuild (it protects the moving parts too well and the rings wont seat well etc...

But all the major High end High performance cars come from the factory with Synthetic in them like the Vette, and the Viper etc...

But... if you use standard oils, you'll be ok too.
Just my take on it all, no right, and no wrong. Just different thoughts...
