the GOO GONE David refers to "removes stickers, grease, gum ,tar, crayon, lipstick, tape, shoe polish ,blood,asphalt, tree sap, etc" as it states on bottle... I use it a lot,... its citrus power...I use it on "white out", black marker stuff etc in my office...never tried it on pillars ,but its harmless and even smells good.....

I , being irresponsible, might even try laquer thinner on my pillars to get rid of overspray...
