My friend was helfd up like that too, he was just in his 85 Mustang ,witrh door still open ,when a guy stuck a gun in his side..."Gimme your wallet ,your Rolex and leave the keys"....keys already in ignition...

...but I dont think (even though crooks arent that smart) he would be dumb enough to shoot a guy that threw the keys under the car, b/c of the noise, and then he has three choices ,go get the keys (lots of time), run (too slow), or get another car (by now ,he has 'alerted' the area...) so I think he`d really hesitate to shoot for "revenge"(you got rid of "his" keys), and getting himself in jeopardy like that
