just bought a nice puter for the house in january...ended up costing me $450 for new computer and flat screen (cost around $695 in store).... $100 rebate on puter, $50 on screen, got $100 rebate from MicroCenter for charging it to their VISA credit card (5 minutes application), then I paid it off first payment and dont use the card anymore...
bought a Power Spec 6344 intel pentium 4 521 processor 1024 KB full speed L2 cache 512 MB DDR 400RAM Windows XP
with a 17" X2Gen LCD flatscreen $450, not too shabby....I paid almost $2500 for a lot lesser system 10-15 yrs ago
