All Pontiac V-8s have basically the same dimensions. The 74 may have had the odd bolt hole configuration that doesn't accept the standard 1st generation mounts. Someone probably fabricated some mounts. If this is the case you can straighten it out with the correct kit. There usually is a lot of clearance between the carb and hood.
