Has anyone had any experiences with vinyl interior that has been painted? I am looking at a car that had original gold seats, dash and door panels. They are have been painted white. How long will this paint last and does it flake off?

If the plastic was cleaned and prepped properly and good primer and paint was used, then the color will hold up pretty good. I painted my center console when I restored it and it turned out great. As for the seat covers - I haven't had any experience with that. I know you can dye them, but again, you need to properly clean and prep them. Any chance they replaced the seat covers with new white ones?
