So I go to the local resto-speed shop here in Victoria BC and get new rocker panel chrome moldings, as the ones that came with the car were in the trunk, with a bag of screws....and they looked pretty badly scratched up etc. So I get new ones and new clips. I get them home and look at the car, the rocker is clean, fresh paint and smooth....with holes in the side but not the right places, I looked at the old molding and someone had screwed right through the molding to attach them to the side of the rocker [ACK! some people, eh] Do you have or know the correct measurements for where the holes go? ...also no hole for the plastic insert in the front fender so the measurements there would be helpful...or if you know who may have the info as I have been hunting [books & net] for over a month. I did see the FAQ on 69 rocker panels and it was helpful...but I am still stumped. If any one has the correct measurements it would sure help instead on me just guessing.....Thanks!
but I must make a hole in the front fender and is that where I put the drill hole...? It would be nice to know the measurements for the correct placement of the holes
Mark the holes first with a black marker then test the molding against the marks before drilling. It's a bugger if the hole is 1/8" out...pretty hard to redrill...speaking from experience here!
