Does anyone know where I can get or what I can use instead of the braided wire that is used in the remote mirror to connect the mirror face to the control knob? It's really fine, much finer than normal picture hanging wire.

I`m assuming you have the 'correct' mirror...
I dont ,I use the 72-81 style bullet Camaro mirror...but on mine one wire broke , so I just bought another mirror off EBay, wonder if the wires are the same?? If so you could buy a used later style mirror off EBay , and change the wires..?
they usually go for $10-20 for a 'single'...

Thanks guys. I ran over to my Fender Statocaster and compared the wires. Looks like one of the strings might work. I have the old wires, 2 sets in fact but they are now too short to work. Man, this is a tough fix but I think I have it licked.
