Hi Guys, I inherited a couple truckloads of parts with my 68 when I bought it. There are some interesting parts. I found an original 400 front bumper, a bunch of red interior parts, a bunch of deluxe black interior parts, some strange automatic shifters (they have supports on each side and you squeeze the bar in the middle to shift) maybe camaro?, 4 speed pedals and linkage, and a ton more stuff. There are a pair of bucket seats and a back seat. I haven't seen seats like this in a 67 or 68 before so I'm not sure what they are. They have headrests and the back seat appears to be a different pattern than the front. I like the idea of the headrests but not sure what they came out of. Is there a way that I can post a pic so maybe some of you guru's can ID them? Thanks! dave
Head rests were standard in '69. Only two cover options were available, standard and deluxe. We need to see the pics of the pattern to know if it's 'bird or Camaro.
Some of us here at FGF use Photobucket to host our images.
Open an account, and it very simple to post pictures. To upload, click on the 'browse' tab and select the image you wish to place in your album. After you select the image, just click on the ‘upload’ tab. Under the picture you uploaded, you will have a list of codes that can place images in e-mail, web sites and forums. Copy and paste the IMG code in your post and the image will be displayed. Prerty darn easy once ya get the hang of it.
Since they are Camaro seats you should check out those headrests for date codes. You could have some rare early models. There are some 67 and 68's out there with headrests.
There was a question brought up about the pitch of the head rests. Date codes from the head rests with the cant were early production '69. The ones without the cant were later '69. I think we narrowed it down to the month GM made the switch. That thread is a couple of years old by now. Vikki, do you happen to remember?
Dave, you will find the headrest date code on the shaft of the headrest. My straight bar headrests were stamped faintly on the bar with some sort of ink? and my curved bar headrests were date stamped in the metal.

Date code is on the headrest shaft. Just pull them out. My Nov 68 built has codes stamped in the straight shafts.
We compared a bunch of Lordstown birds built October-December 1968 and found that the December cars have the angled headrests and the pre-December have the straight headrests. Dash balls (horizontal vs. cross) changed over late October or early November.

The entire seat assembly will bolt right into a '67. If ordering upholstery, be sure to order for '69 as '67 were a different height seat back. Back seat covers are the same for all three years (sizewise) so you can match a set although not the correct pattern for '67.
