This guy down in Texas sent me a rotten, unuseable column, then after I returned it, he stiffed me for half the cost of the entire process... Don't deal with this guy ever...
His name is Ernesto Tovar, McAllen Texas, his ebay name is hemi572ci; his normal email address is moparadrian@aol.com.
I don't normally like to rip people ..but this guy was deceitfully wrong with his description, he was late in shipping the item, the item was not for a Firebird as described, then after he agreed to refund the full amount, he only sent half...
Its not a lot of money were talking about, but its the principal and people like that shouldn't be allowed to sell crap products to people...
Hey cheesehead, sorry you got took, I got craped out of motor mounts for $50.00 (swap'd an OHC for V-8) from a dirt bag in KC, Ks. I went as far as calling the local PD and nothing happened! So I know how you feel!! I just don't understand those people.
I'd rather see a rust bucket on the road, than a garage queen anytime!!
if you neg him,he will neg you.the ebay feedback system sucks in thar reguard.there are alot of people i would like to have given a neggie to but decided that it would hurt me more than it would hurt them cause i am a seller
If you can't neg him because of retaliation, give him a positive and write "wrong part" or "junk eventually arrived" or "unhappy but something was eventually shipped".
But be fair too. Give a chance for your seller to set things right. Once you put feedback, communications are pretty much shut down.
I went throught the ebay system, and its a joke. They forwarded off my complaint, and the guy simply said I didn't deserve anymore money back. From ebays standpoint theres nothing else that can be done unless I want to keep emailing him, or simply send it to their "negative file", and then its a closed deal. After countless emails, and the guy lieing about the refund, I went for the negative file and closed the deal.
If nothing else, I at least got to say my peace through ebay and got it documented that the guy is trying to sell junk. So if stuff pops up again, they have a trail in order to ban the guy.
But for now, just beware of the guy, and don't buy the steering column if you see it, because its not for a Firebird, and the splines are junk..
EBay is ripe ground for scammers. I bought and paid for an intake manifold from a Josh Harjo in Oklahoma, but item was never delivered, seller never responded to emails, seller cancelled his eBay account. eBay offers no protection against fraud and declined to act on my non-delivery complaint.
I submitted a mail fraud complaint to the US Postal Service in August but they never responded either.
For the most part, my purchases through FGF have been a much better experience.

I agree 100%... for the most part, Im to the point with ebay that unless its something I can drive to and examine, and pay for in cash, forget it...unless its from a reputable company. But private party purchases, and especially out of staters...forget it. The forum has been much better for getting quality parts if I can't find it at the local swap meets..
No Paypal offers no protection. I bought a used trumpet years ago on ebay and recieved a model which was different and inferior from what was advertised. Paypal was EXTREMELY rude to deal with. The only protection I'd recommend is to use a solid credit card that offers buyer protection. Capital One is great for this in my book. The bottom line in my transaction was the transaction was resolved by my credit card company and the ebay seller, or paypal, ultimately ate the cost for the trumpet which I sent back to the seller and never paid for. The seller refused to accept the return package so we have that trumpet now and use it for rainy day parades and football games when we don't want the good one to get wet. The credit card company said - that's fine, you tried to return it and sent proof to them that I did. I now use paypal again after being suspended for a while and was part of a class action suit that unjustly suspended users. http://www.news.com/PayPal-settles-customer-suit/2100-1038_3-5233490.html If you ever buy soemthing from an ebay seller that does not want to use paypal, don't hold it against the ebay seller becasue paypal sucks.
I bought a hanging pot rack from a guy on E-bay. It was the kind you hang from the ceiling and hang your pots and pans from... When I received it, it was bent, scrapped up, and peices were missing. He said that he never said all the peices were included and that I should make a claim with UPS. He refused to replace or accept a return. He used his company and secretary to handle this transaction. Never got to speak to him directly. Never resolved. About a year later, someone from his company called my company looking for a particular material that only I was able to supply. I recognized the name. Revenge was sweet! He'd been way ahead if he just refunded the $75 for the pot rack. He cost himself thousands!!!!! Imagine his surpise when I aked him about the pot rack he sold on E-bay...
