Hello All, 1. Was a front power antenna available for 69 Firebirds?
1a. If so, when completly collapsed did the tip of the antenna sit flush with the mounting bezel?
2. Is there a newer GM unit which might still be available from GM which would possibly weight less, function better, cost less, and still fit the stock front fender mounting hole?

Kevin, The power antenna option was available on the 69 but it was located on the right rear quarter. I believe there is not enough space between the top of the fender and fenderwell to accomodate the oem power unit on the front fender. You may try some of your local stereo shops for an aftermarket that would fit in tight areas. Here is some more info on the antennas... Antenna Info
