I was watching Musclecar (or one of those shows) today and on the marketplace part of the show they showed that Duplicolor was now offering a DIY paint system.Anyone hear any feedback on this? What do you all think? http://www.duplicolor.com/products/paintshop.html

I believe this is a lacquer product since it isn't catalyzed and is ready to spray out of the can. That would make it the least durable choice for car paints. Lacquer is a forging product to spray or repair. The color choices are limited in this particular line. In some states, your PPG or other paint dealer can order lacquers in any color you want and it would be equivalent effort to spray out. What is the price for a gallon of Duplicolor? A gallon of hugger orange lacquer from PPG was quoted to me as $350 and with special order.
I watched a show that had a few small foriegn cars painted with this system, and they didn't look too bad at all for bright solid colors. There is also a Dupli website that shows car owner paint jobs with this. Some look pretty good, but i don't know how many cans it takes and what the cost per is.
