We also need to focus on buying American made goods.
There's an article that has stats on how our manufacturing economy would change drastically if we all spent just 10% of our everyday purchases on USA made goods. I'll keep looking
Sears - Christmas shopping has already started.
I know I needed this reminder since Sears isn't always my first choice. Amazing when you think of how long the war has lasted and they haven't withdrawn from their commitment. Could we each buy at least one thing at Sears this year?
How does Sears treat its employees who are called up for military duty? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up.
Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonu s programs, for all called-up reservist employees for up to two years.
I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution. I suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves.
I agree. And, I do my part in supporting Sears bottom line.
I find it difficult though to buy anything NOT made in china nowadays. I consider china one of our main nemesis, they are doing whatever necessary to overtake the US yet we continue to buy products made there and I am as guilty as anyone. But, I have bought items even at Sears only to find out it was made in china.
Craftsman and Klein are what all my good tools are and as far as I know they are both still made in America. I love Sears, there has been one of them has closed that was really close to where I live, and the other ones are usually dead inside. I always go there to pay my Discover bill and "look" around. Besides, all the Chinese are good at are making lead painted toys and Aqua Dots which make kids hallucinate! I think China is trying to get us and laughing their "heads" off! Just my conspiracy theory.
