As some of you know, I've been liquidating excess parts and other goodies. I haven't parted with my console clock because I'm thinking I might install it. Once installed, there's no going back. What would y'all do?
If I install it, I either need to get it repaired or converted to quartz. The case and lens have been brought back to new though.
I sold the one I had for 25 years. And my wife say I'm indecisive. Ha. Take that I say. There is no way in this world I would ever put another hole in the car that can't be undone. It's already cost me too much money to reverse the damage I was stupid enough to do way back when. Just my .02
John, it looks right at home to me. I'd go with the quartz movement. I'll be doing that to the clock in my convertible. I like having an in car clock since I dont wear a watch.
Is it an option that you would have gotten if you were ordering the car new (in 1967)? If so, then go ahead.
That's how I'm looking at those items (like Rally gauges and a tilt wheel). I'm putting in factory options that my car did not come with that I would have ordered. Helps make it "my car".
I had my clock restored and converted to quartz
And remember, they are on the verge of repopping our center consoles.
2012 Mustang Boss 302 #1918, Competition Orange. FGF replacement 2006 Mustang V6 Pony, Vista Blue. Factory ordered. 2019 BMW X3 (Titled to the wife, but I'm always driving it for her. So I'm claiming it) Old projects, gone but not forgotten: 1967 FB 400, original CA car. After 22 years of work, trashed by the guy who was supposed to paint it. I had to sell it. 1980 Turbo Trans Am 1970 Mustang fastback, 351C 4Bbl, auto 1988 Mustang GT, 5 speed 1983 F-150 4x4, built 302 1994 Chevy K2500 HD 4x4, 454 TBI
I installed an original clock im my console and my console was almost perfect. I figure as long as I use stock/NOS/OEM parts it really shouldn't matter...
Those clocks do pop up on Ebay quite often. 69firebirdman posted the last one on this site and I bought it. The thing was all in pieces. I rolled the dice, bought it, cleaned it up, put it all back together and bingo the thing works. Doesn't keep good time but it does work. I beleive I only paid $105 and it also had the wiring harness included...
I think I will get the clock converted and then decide. I've been trying to keep the car clean of clunky stuff, but the clock is growing on me. My console is a 9 out of 10 and only because I've got lots of hours in it. The car will never be original so that's not a concern to me.
Bingo. Despite what repop parts house (like CI) say, the 3 gauge console cluster was a Camaro only item.

Those are Camaro gauges as are all console gauges. This is what the Firebird gauges look like:
Those are '68 style gauges behind a '69 T/A wheel in a '67. The '67 gauges are cosmetically different and the lens is more provocative.
John, Yah I've owned a few with rally gages too. That is definitely a 67 Camaro gage pod. Just depends if you want 'correct' or 'nice looking factory'. I'm going for the nice looking factory with new, accurate gages. Since the 67's share the same console the gage pod fits in good.
Same here on the indecisiveness. I have two clocks and put one up on Ebay every once in a while, but I always set the reserve so high they never sell. Go analyze that!
'68 428 HO M3 Monster, 4-on-the-floor! Need I say more?
With the current value of unmolested consoles I would have to say no. I think you can however develop an alternate means of mounting the clock without punching holes in a nice console. If not, I wouldn't do it.

3M automotive trim (double sided) tape. Maybe the clock would be to heavy though.
That guage package is option ZU for 67's, I sold one on E-bay many moons ago. I would rather have this style than the Camaro, but the cluster you're going with looks good, I like the chrome trim. Measure 5 times, drill once. LOOKS GOOD
I'd rather see a rust bucket on the road, than a garage queen anytime!!
where do you send a clock to get it converted? i just won one for my 69 on ebay(in dash style.)
I sent mine here 6 yrs ago... http://www.clockwks.com/The_Clock_Worx.html I converted mine , I could have gotten an orig works from them too, but did elect to convert it...works like ac charm now in my 69
