Im in the middle of replacing my U-joints and the the set i got from the local parts store doesnt fit at all. I asked for just a set for a 350 'bird and what I got wont fit at all. the bearing cap diameter is too big and wont fit into the trans yoke or the driveshaft. Are there different U-Joints for a TH350 and TH400 trans?
If the one the book calls for is too large all around, I'll bet the one you need uses outside snap rings and is considered a 1310 series. If so, the Spicer # should be 5-153X or Precision #369. You may be ahead to have a machine shop that does driveshaft work make the determination and slam it in for you.
