Anyone had problems with TAMRAZ parts ? Two weeks ago I saw they were offering a 4sp. shift boot for a good price on E-Bay . I used ' Buy It now ' and Paypaled the money to them. Didn't hear anything for 10 days so I fired off an e-mail. - no answer. Waited another week and sent another e-mail . - no answer. called them yesterday. They looked up my info. and the gentleman on the phone said " you should already have the part " . he said he would call back ! He did about 30 minutes later. he left me a message and said that they were out of stock until mid. January and the shift boots were on national backorder. He also said I should leave my order open and paid for and they would notify me when they were in stock again. He lastly said I could get a refund if I wished to. I checked online and called' The Parts Place' and they verified that the part was in stock there and they would ship ASAP.Funny thing is , 'The Parts Place' is down the street from 'Tamraz 'and the girl handling my order said Tamraz picks up parts from them all the time.I called and promptly received a refund but then opened my e-mail this morning to find an unpaid item dispute for the shifter boot from E-bay. Tamraz opened the dispute to get there listing fees back. All has been handled amicably now ! Is it just me , or should Taraz not list items for sale they don't have ? Also there initial customer service sucks ! They only E-mail they have ever replied to was the one I sent today where I said I wasn't happy about the dispute they opened. I told them to take me off there E-mail list and that I wouldn't ever buy from them.I guess i'm just a pain in the neck to deal with ! Wonder how many people leave there money with these guys without checking ? It would be nice to get notice when the item didn't ship over 2 weeks ago ! ' Hey we've got his money lets wait to see if he contacts us !' Paul C.
way back , further than the history goes on this subject "we" (several fgf`ers) had a mostly verbal issue with Tamraz...based on their 'policy' of not giving you feedback until you did,, 'holding the customer hostage to get positive feedback'....mrs Tamraz and husband both signed up here on fgf to argue their points..I also spent a couple of private emails back and forth with them....so far nobody has had any parts problems (like bad parts) with them as far as I know , but their "policy" and "customer service" seem to lack.....
Awh crap,,, here we go again!!! I personally have never had a problem with them, but also never had to deal with their customer service,,,, or lack there of from what I have heard. Good luck and please let us know.
I've bought from them before and never had a problem. In fact a tab was broken off one of the hood scoops that they sent to me and they replaced it immediately. I guess when your company gets bigger you will eventually have to deal with employees who are not on top of things.
I'll bet if you were to buy from them again your wouldn't have the same problem twice.
I agree , they might get the next order correct , but how many employees of this company messed my order up. Someone placed the E-bay ad for a part that was not in stock. Someone saw that I used buy it now and paid instantly. Someone then tried to ship the item and found they didn't have it in stock.Someone decided to not notify me then that the order couldn't be filled. Someone ignored my E-mails about the order twice. Finally it was up to me to call in 15 days after payment to sort the problem out. NOW SOMEONE THERE HAS THE SAME AD RUNNING AGAIN WHEN I WAS TOLD THE ITEM WOULDN'T BE BACK IN STOCK TILL MID JANUARY. The Guy on the phone who helped sort my problem out didn't have an Indian accent so I assume that Tamraz hasn't gotten that big yet. This forum is for people to warn others of potential problems with companys selling Pontiac parts. This was a small transaction and I PROMPTLY received my money back - BUT what if I hadn't taken the initiative to call them ? I'll spend my money elsewhere. As a side note : The day this order blew up , I called " the Parts Place " and ordered the shift boot I needed.I received it , but it was the OER part that was universal for a non console car. I called them up and explained my problem. A very nice gentleman verified that I had the wrong part and promptly said he would ship the correct part immediately. I then asked if he wanted to get the wrong part back first , he said to just keep the wrong part for my trouble. I received an E-mail confirming my replacement shipment and received the correct part 3 days after that e-mail at no charge to me. NOW THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE !
QUOTE: BUT what if I hadn't taken the initiative to call them ?
IMO That's your responsibility. These days, you have to stay on top of orders no matter where you buy. Classic Industries is the same way. They will leave you on back order forever.....
This part was listed on E-bay " Buy It Now " - They should have it stocked. I don't think E-bay would like sellers listing and collecting for items the seller doesn't have. I understand your point though , But... I notified them about the part. They came after me to get the listing fees back causing me more grief , and now the same part is back on E-bay a week later ? What reputation would I get if I placed ads , collected money , didn't ship , didn't respond ect... No harm no foul right ? Well I've gotten E-mails from E-bay reminding to pay for the item i had already paid for. I received an unpaid item dispute on E-bay so they could get there listing fees back and I had to respond to it. After a phone call and 2 more E-bay e-mails E-bay generously said the dispute was settled by both parties . I just wanted my part and did exactly what was required to do. There are many companies that sell firebird parts and that is exactly why I won't take the chance to deal with TAMRAZ again.I'm a small fish and I'm sure they could care less about my business- but possibly they should care !
i agree with speedy5 ,if the company doesn't have it in stock then they shouldn't list it for sale.or it should be listed as a presold item with a time frame listed as to when it will be available.
I agree with that also. If you don't have it in stock you shouldn't sell it (and definately not have the "buy it now" option).
I'm not trying to speak on their behalf, I know that I will use them because I've had a positive experience every time That I have.
One person could have done all the things you said if they employ, say, 5 people to run their internet stuff. You just never know and your right when you say that what matters is how their customer service treated you. They lost a customer and it's their fault.
I have bought from both Tamraz and Part's place and while the people are not your best friends when you walk in the door, they are a business that sell many many parts. I believe it's a very common practice in this industry to get the sale, and ship when the back ordered part arrives. I am not saying that is right, but that is common place.
Tamraz has thousands of listings, so maybe it just slipped thru the cracks? I have picked up the parts from them, and they are a relatively small shop. Good people though. That's my two cents.
If you list items on e-bay as i do , please have them available for delivery. If you find the item your selling is mistakenly not in stock , notify the customer immediately . Then after telling the customer the item is out of stock and won't be in stock for a month don't rerun the E-bay auction like Tamraz did ,until the item is in stock. I had a problem that wasn't handled properly and I won't choose to buy from them again. If any one here choses to buy from Tamraz , do as this poster has. Drive over and pick up the part.
