The market has changed in the last two or three years, and Camaro vendors discussed on Camaros.net who were once rated best are not best anymore. Others have taken that lead. I wanted to ask opinions on who is best for Pontiac parts these days. Lets keep this on a positive note and pick who is best rather than dog who is worst.
I have had good dealings with Forbes Pontiac in Waterloo,Ontario,Canada. They are authorized distributors for YearOne,Goldenleaf and i think GM Restoration Parts. No killer mark-ups, basically the cheapest parts i have bought anywhere. You place your order in store and have to pick it up when it comes in. 69Firebirdman (Terry) has always treated me well with good parts and quick shipping.

Ames, and Jact-up from ebay (altho I now buy from them off of ebay, has sold me anything from the Classic cat. at 20% off and 100 times better service). He also brought in my heater core from Ames, and added it to an order of other stuff, and shipped it for less.

I've dealt with all but the vendors in Canada. As far as having the correct part and shipping, Ames. Yea they're a little high priced on some things. But it's worth it in my book, to know your getting what they describe and send you.
After meeting Steve Ames this past summer at the Pontiac Nationals I truly had even more respect and appreciation for him and his company. He took the time to talk with everyone, gave away TONS of gifts/cash/products etc. The guy is just simply a good guy who loves Pontiacs. His entire staff is also just incredible.
Classic ,NPD and Ricks First gen are also good IF You know how to differenciate between "general" Fbody parts vs. Firebird parts...the "general" parts(fits both Camaro and Firebird parts)are usually good...but stay away from 'some' OER parts like the 69 dash, inner pillars (per my expoerience)
not a cheap shot jim, just testing your sense of humor.it is all good with you jim.
I have to admit you took me off gaurd with that (funny) slap after I paid you a huge compliment.... But as you can read, I wasn't going to hold it against you....
I've had good luck with NPD, Ames, Classic, even Tamraz. No issues with any of them. Bought an impossible to find dipstick tube from Terry. Must have pissed him off though. He won't talk to me anymore.
I'm a hobbyist. Not a professional. Don't be hatin'!
Ames, PY, & Year One in that order. For used parts Franks Pontiac parts is a good source. Terry & Bill never have the parts I needed in the past, but will always consider them as a possible source to deal with along the way...
npd, classic and tear one. no problems yet but im sure year one will send me something for a camaro soon enough. they've tried a few times but were caught in the order process and i hung up after. npd will ensure you get what you ask for if its specific for a bird but if its a both situation, it probably a camaro part!!!
