Does anyone know if Pontiac installed any chrome on the valve covers or air cleaner at the factory, or is it all after market stuff, for a 1968 350HO motor?

Welcome to the site. Here's a picture of an original 1968 350HO engine;

As Jim's picture shows, the 350's had painted valve covers and air cleaner/lid etc... the 400's had the dress up chrome. (Valve Covers, Air Cleaner lid, grill trim etc...

Where in WA are you located? I know lots of Firebird people all over the state...

Lots of friends, like Dave, and Ernie, and Ken Plantz etc that are just north of you. We have some friends right in the Ferndale area and need to get up that way to see All, the afore mentioned friends... and then some...

Brett, that is the car I bought. I am in the process of locating the origanal heads and other engine parts. Do you know if Paul has the #18 heads that came off this car?

I don't think Paul did a whole lot to the car, so I think the heads may have been replaced by some one before he had it...
