What color red works best in the bird emblems on the fenders? I used Testors black enamel for the black and baked it like the FAQ said, turned out great. Also, what color matches good for the 400 emblems? Thanks for your time.
Rod , I cannot help you w the "bird" red, but the Testors "color by Boyd " # 52706 Sunburst is what i`ve used on my 400 emblems , it seems to be a very good match...others have used it too and agree...
That sunburst is hard to come by, none of the hobby shops around here carry it. I did find it on the net at thier web site, thanks. I tried the regular red for the bird, looks to bright at first but after baking it and a clear coat I think it will match.
Noticed you were from houston, I picked my 67 up in Pearland about 3 weeks ago.
The guy's name was Sean Mollett. Found the ad on www.cctol.com . He had had it in a garage for the last year and a half, only put about 150 miles on it.
If you know someone around here with a nice first gen, I would love to take a look at it. Its hard to find close up pics of original equipment to do some restoration by.
