I have a question on rear calipers, what type are used, get this on my 69 vert the guy before me has the dr. facing fwd and the pass facing aft. Looks like he may have the backing plate backwards, problem is when I relocate it 180 it will put the dr bleeder pointing down. Looks like I have two of the same calipers. Any ideas....Thanks..........................Mark
Frank Z Thats helpfull...Next question, I have 11 inch rotors, and BP is 5X4 3/4. I have a 4 speed and I need to put a emergency brake back on, but with one rotor facing back and one facing fwd I would only be able to hook up one caliper. It looks like my calipers are of the small size, so I will have to change over to the larger size so both calipers will work with the e brake cable. Is that right?. Thanks........................Mark
Mark, I have been helping someone with this and here is what he came up with.
Thanks Jim. I spent the last two days researching this and I found Raybestos' site actually list the housing and overall length specs. It was a bit like finding a needle in a hay stack but eventually I found two that are the exact length I wanted (no binding and smooth over the leaf spring routing) and should be able to use the original intermediate (center) cable. Here they are in case you're curious:
For the Left Rear: Raybestos RR 02' El Dorado; 27 7/8" Housing, 33.8" Overall Length ________________________________________________________________
For the Right Rear: Raybestos LR 02' Sunfire; 17 3/8" Housing, 26.3" Overall Length _________________________________________________________________
This swap has been a lot of work but it is pretty nice seeing it all finally come together. Hope all is well!
Thanks, SHeen

Sheen, I think what I did is I had to use two short cables. Each set came with a long and a short cable. If I remember correctly I used the two short ones.Looking back at my E-bay perches I see I bought a set of cables from a 81 TA, and my Seville rear axel had them on it when I got it so I used the two short ones.
I also had to make a center cable by cutting it shorter and crimping a stop back on.
Glad to hear you have made so much progress . Good feeling to see things getting done!!!

Jim,
It's been some time! I finally got my bird painted (did it myself) and started putting it back together around Christmas. I've got my 81'TA rearend in and I'm working on the e-brakes. I noticed you used the original body brackets on both rear cables, left and right. The ones I got with my rearend are way too long for that. Nicklas Ridell used a 79-81 TA rearend setup to and he fabricated new body brackets and mounted them forward to allow for the extra length. I'd rather just buy cables that would work with the original body brackets. Your cables look new. Do you remember what year/car they are for?
Thanks!
Sheen

I can take more pis of the setup this weekend. What is the 3 digit code on your calipers? I have the Seville and 79 ta setup and the only differences I can tell is the brake line join on the tube for the TA setup and center for the Seville.
caliper and brakes from an 87-93 camaro will work as well as 94-99 firebird ta as im told. make sure you have the us axle and not the aussie axle as the aussie wont work!!

When I got my 9" it was that way. One bleeder up one down. Just went to a O'Reilys and got a caliper the faces up. Only cost 10 bucks with the core. Hope this helps
