It can be done by yourself, but a helper is a good idea. Just start removing the bolts on top, the one into the firewall, the one inside the doorjamb, the ones around the wheelwheel and the one under the rear corner.
Pulling the front end off 1st is also a major plus.

Be sure to put some sort of protection on the front edge of your doors.
I had never done that either but did a few weeks back. It wasn't actually that bad except for the scratched paint on the front edge of my door. Hey, it's just paint.
