Hey there maybe somone can help me out. right now on my 69 conv. I have a bumper that wraps around and covers the lighted bird on the rear quarter panel. i ordered a new one and it does the same thing before i ordered the new bumper i was told that a 67 or 68 bumper was on there. I am looking to see if somone can give me some measurements from there 69 bumper or even if they can give me there measurement on there rear quarter of the bird to see what is going on..
please help me out.

I don't think you can even install a 67-68 rear bumper on a 69. 69's are wider. So the problem must something other than that. We will definitely need a picture to solve this one....

If u installed a repop 69 bumper, and u still have the bumper over the side marker light, then I'd say that is where your problem is, not the bumper,, someone has hacked up your rear qrt. and put the side marker light in the wrong place.. they may have put in a partial qrt. skin on and did'nt cut the light out in the right place.. ??????????????????????????????????

I agree 100% that "we" would need a picture to solve it, but I could uncover a lot if you gave a measurement from the last bumper bolt to the end of the bumper, or the even better guess that is offered, a measurement from the back of the quarter to the bird location.

My one bird has Camaro (bad word) quarters on it, and thats exactly were the bumpers will go ,over the bird. I guess thats the remnants of the camaro markers for the rear...The will be moved somday...I don't know if you coulds see it on the car show but but it's my yellow one last name (hein) to look it up

as said before , right bumper , wrong quarters...the "Hole" someone haceked up for the bird is in the wrong place...the bird should be (by memory) about 2" 'ahead' of the bumper


pic would verify...and if the bumper turns down there ,theres an easy fix for that...loosen all the bolts, jack the car up, put a 2 x 4 piece under the ends, let down so its straight , tighten up...
but I`m sure the question is about thebird being covered up..

I put Camaro quarters on a 69 Bird back in the 80's when that was all you could get. For this I'm heartily sorry.... (moment of silence)... I cut the marker Birds in right over top of the rectangle for the Camaro markers. They seemed to be in the exact right place. No problems at all with the bumper being even close to covering them.

Welcome aboard Dave! Pics would help us detirmine what may be the problem. It does sound like patch panels were placed incorrectly. One of the PO's (previous owners) of my OHC-6 coupe had the rear panels replaced. They did a poor job, but they're not covered by the bumper.
