Funny how opinions differ. I think it's cool, especially if it is from the dealer ship the car was originally sold at. I've actually been watching for one from the Pontiac dealship in Harrisburg, PA where our car was sold. If I could find it, I would put it on as I think it is really a cool thing to have IMO...
y'know, I'd pull it off and patch the holes, but would def hang on to it and display it if I was "showing" the car....it would be a nice addition next to the PHS docs showing where it was sold, if thats available to you....
I would take it off and keep it. And I would have the holes filled. I would do it that way because it leaves your options open. If you don't have it fixed when you get the car painted you don't have the option of not having it on your car. You can always drill some holes later on and install it.
Keep it installed if can be safely removed, car painted, then reinstalled. That is if PHS denotes that dealer actually sold the car. I would keep it because it looks authentic and adds a touch to the car.

I would personally take it off and keep it. What I like about the back end of the bird is its symmetry, and with the dealer emblem on the symmetry is a bit gone.
When I had my Bird and was showing it, I looked for one for my car. I was going to put magnetic tape on it and put it on the car at shows, then remove it for cruising. Barry

I totally agree....
If you want to be "safe" , meaning you might change your mind...take it off fill the holes, grind down the studs and install with dbl sided tape!
but its a "time correct piece", so if its the selling dealer I`d keep it!
usually those were installed with speed nuts on studs ,should easily pry off...
ps , I looked at it again,. its one of the ones that screwed on..... so if you want to fill the holes...cut of the screws even with the heads...silicone then or jb weld heads into the holes of the tag ,then use dbl sided tape, it will 'look' screwed on...
It's the original dealer it matches my PHS. I'm leaning towards removing it and defiantly keeping it. I really like the idea of magnetic tape on the back for the shows. Thanks everyone.
I kept the Dealer's bumper sticker on mine and I always get comments on how cool it is to see the Dealer's mark on the car. Seems to add originality/authenticity…
The magnetic tape option gives you the best of both. I'd go that route.
