First of all, I got my fuel leaks under control and I am running!
I feel so great right now I can't even explain it. Consider that I am not an auto mech, just a guy that can fix stuff...like copiers fax machines VCRs scanners y'know "white grease" stuff. anyway I'm on cloud 9
My question is regarding my rear end, I bought multi leafs and I was gonna get a conversion kit. All I have is the pictures of the kits but they jus don't seem to be very complete. I went to a driveline shop to ask about replacing the front seal and to have the front bushings pressed out of my new leafs( gonna use the PST ones) and I asked him about replacing the perches rather than a kit. He said for ~$210. he would put on new perches and seals (and press out bushings). It seems ok to me but I value the experience you folks have and wondered what y'all think.
I would jump on the job in a heartbeat for that kind of money. Meaning it would be good pay. But when you think about what it takes to make a living as a mechanic anymore, I wouldn't say he is overcharging. It's all about who you have to work with in your area. I would take this oportunity to shop around a little for local mechanic talent.

Yep, being an auto tech these days is all about warranty work. I know a couple of guys that have moved on to other jobs, because they couldn't make any money at being a mechanic.
