i currently have a head case for a project. so while at work i was driving around looking for parts. i saw what looked like a firebird so i stopped. just looking for parts. i walked away with a 1967 conv bird 90% complete air, powertop, rear ant. ys 350, and 30000 newer production from the exact same plant in ohio as my other bird. much better shape. typical rust.. with that i had to take the 68 bird shell and frame with it. his price was 3500. after a 1000 down and some bartering on engine work on his chevys 68 camero, cutlas, lamans and yes hies 67 ho conv. 326 bird. we are square. he buys the parts i do the labor. SWEEEET i think. it is the red bird in my pics.
YS is one of those codes Pontiac used over and over. It's one that you need a little more info to be sure about. Heck, it could be a 389! Here's one reference to look up these codes; http://www.bassettracing.cz28.com/custom3.html
id say its a nice surprise to go looking for parts and come home with a whole car for dirt cheap! good deal and it looks more solid than the one you have in the garage with the 1/4's cut off of it!
