Window handles need to come off, these are attached with a little clip which can be a pain in the a$$ to get off unless you have a special tool. You can get that at the car shop. Once all handles are off just click 'm off with a screw driver.

IMO, they are eaiser than second gens, and s/g's don't fall in the difficult catagory--at least for me.

Are you replacing deluxe door panels or standard ?
Because if you are replacing standard with deluxe then you also have to change your window reg. because the gear the window handles clips onto is longer on deluxe.
At least thats the way it was on my '68

don't forget the screws that are in the bottom of the panel, hidden in the carpet. I think there are four, it's been a while since I pulled a panel.

Just remove the screws 2 or 4 (mine had 2), then get in behind the panels and pry off the plugs from the receivers in the door, they may be a bit "petrified" if they are old, and break, but easily replacable. window crank off, pull the door lever out a bit and lift the whole panel up and out from the window lip. Ive done it a few times in the past few months while adjusting the convert top frame...not to hard..
