I have read lots of posts on the Pypes systems seems the bugs have been worked out. Does anyone have any feedback on the Magnaflow & Flowmaster systems?
I am leaning towards the transverse Magnaflow although I really do not know why??
Just looking for what some of you are running and how you like it?
I do have long branches on my 69' coupe which will likely affect my decision ultimately
In additon to them still not fitting, proven with a 67-81 listing and the shoddy looking installations, I have never seen an ounce of documentation that shows that, pos, I mean pypes offeres anymore preformance than any other system.
Do as you like, but when it's time for a new exhaust, I'll take it to one of my local shops and have a custom bent system installed. Then again, I'm pretty fussy, with the exhaust system looking as if the car doesn't have one, so you migh like haveing the car look as if its dragging around a set of stainless steel balls under the car.
Amervo, I am with you. To me the exhaust has to be up, tight & clean looking. IMO nothing worse that following a classic car and seeing a jury rigged exhaust system handging, banging and rattling!
Also, after my face to face experience with one of the guys from Pypes at the Turley Run this past fall and how he went on to tell me FGF NEVER came with tail pipe splitters and anyone who thinkgs they did is "DEAD WRONG". That was enough for me right there!
i just installed 2.5 cross flow from pypes, wasnt bad, lots of work to tuc it in tight/no impressed with tone go to there web site and listen before you buy,
I got my 2.5" from Doug at Ram aire, fit pretty good, tite..mind you, if you are intending to take it to a muffler shop to get welded as I did, be prepared for some bitching, as they would rather supply and bend em custom for you
I didn't think there was any real magic to it other than the fact you get mandrel bends. As the shops here don't have a mandrel bender. I agree with you regarding keeping the system up nice and high hence why I like the the transverse system as you usually see more muffler than differential!
I have the flowmaster system with H-pipe and transverse muffler. I am installing long branch manifolds right now and finally getting rid of the cheap summit headers that I've had for a few years. I like the sound of the flowmaster kit and think it will be even better once I've finished installing the long branch manifolds...if I ever get them (another story).
