My motor is in the shop, they are building 420 hp 350 with Edelbrock performer rpm package and they are using pistons $10 each.Don't you think I should go with forged pistons or will I be ok ?I mean what pistons they are?
Better go with forged..and $10 pistons are very cheap..even for lower performance cast Pontiac pistons.
If you are going to spend $$$$ on a 420 HP 350 motor..you might as well do it right and spend the money where it is really needed..lower end rods, pistons and rings.
Furthermore, The "BEST" way to build a motor..and this is purely opinion..Is to spend the money on the block prep, rods, pistons and rings..so when you want to swap out heads, intake and cam, the lower end is already stout.

Amen to that! I've always believed the best dollar per mile spent on your engine is in block prep. It's kind of like the foundation on your house - it's money spent for the long haul.
