I can't seem to find a set of bolts for the rear leaf springs that are not part of a $49. kit(2 kits needed). All I need is the 4 shouldered carriage bolts that attach the[rear of the] spring to the shackle( and shackle to rear subframe) and I can't see paying almost 100 bones for them. I also need the front eye bolt but that is easy to find.
I also searched for only those 4 shoulder bolts but was unsuccessfull. I could not find any place that sold the correct bolts by themselves so I ended up buying the kits.
National parts depot does sell bolts only but they are too long, must be a camaro part or something.
Are all four of these bolts the same length? I'm replacing my bushings and discovered I have two different lengths of bolts. Guys I'm sorry for the highjack but I just ran into this and searched with no luck. I'm guessing they should all be the same length.
When I removed mine I had 2 diff lengths. I ended up ordering a shackle kit (x2) for $20/ea from ESPO springs and things. They sell just the bolts but they are 30-=something$. The kit has 4 bolts the same length.
If you had two different lengths as well that would seem to indicate it's original. Those bolts are just very unique, a carriage bolt with a shoulder at the end of the threads as well, not to mention the size. My rubber bushings seemed to have been replaced at some time and the bushings for the longer bolts were wider but that would mean that the factory wanted the shackles to be canted. Why?? On mine the longer bolts were on the spring eye, not the frame.
Interesting, To be clear I actually had 3 of the carriage/shoulder bolts, and one hardware store galvanized special mounting the rear of the leaf to the body. One was longer than the other two, as was the hardware store bolt. the ones in the front eye bracket were not carriage/shoulder but they did have fine thread like the rear ones.
