Last summer, had my 69 changed from the original automatic transmission to a 5-speed overdrive manual. I need to do something with the old console to make it look OK. the opening on the console is 7 &3/4 by 4 inches. Anyone out there done the same. I am looking for pics and suggestions and possible vendors to get the parts I need (shifter boots and chrome ring)

They sell the chrome well for 4 speeds, and the shifter boots, but you won't find a burlwood cover for the console.

I think you will have to make one from sheet steel, and use the burlwood applique to cover it as a replacement for your automatic one.

I converted one using the 67 four speed shift plate. I think your shift pattern might be a little wider than stock though.
