My 69 seems to need a new speedo cable, not sure what to get. I have tried lube but I think the housing is worn bad.

The cable I am replacing has a threaded end at the trans but a push on end at the speedo although the speedo housing is threaded.

Probably need one threaded at both ends? which one do I buy?

I would have thought the speedo end of the cable would have a threaded nut as well. They dont really market the number of cables they used to regarding the specific lengths. If you get one at a parts house, it will most likely be a little on the long side, but would be functional. If the cable inside the housing is coming apart, (I did read that you are concerned about the housing, but) you may be able to replace just the cable in the original. You may also get with a speedometer shop and they can make one whatever configuration you want.
