I have a 69 bird with a four speed. My hurst shifter does not have the offset to the right built in. I can not use my console over it. I believe there needs to be a 1" or 1 1/4" offset built into it. Does anyone know the correct amount?

I was thinking I could cut and weld into the handle the correct offset.....
