Funny on the timing. I just told a store manager I would never shop at Home Depot right after I returned the $160 I just bought.
Story: After my purchase, I went to my truck and found the battery was dead (been putting off getting new one). Could not get anyone to jump me. Saw their truck two spots down and said, "Hey, am I lucky or what, I will rent the truck and run to get a battery and swap it out in the lot."
Went up to the counter and happily turned over my id, insurance card, and credit card. Lady tells me I had to purchase something and I showed her the receipt that I just purchased $160 worth of crap. She said sorry, it has to be big.
I explained to her the situation and she said sorry but no.
Asked to see manager. Manager was too busy to talk to me but told her to tell me sorry.
A "little" angry, I went out, got the crap I bought, and returned all of it.
Went back to service desk and showed lady my money and told her to make sure to tell her manager I returned everything I bought and would not be back. Lowes is just down the road and they would rent me the truck.
Getting tired of this type of customer service. Hope businesses with this type of "policies" continue to financially struggle as customers go elsewhere to companies who have sense of reason to do the right thing.
I was going to Home Depot to return something about a year ago, walked toward the front door and saw a black Mazda Protege sitting right in the walk way of the entrance. Didn't really think it was much more than someone picking someone else up. Went inside and while I was at the return counter a guy walked out the door with a gas Poulin chainsaw in the box on his shoulder. I was going to follow him out the store but 2 employees told me to leave him alone. I watched him slowly walk up to the car and casually put the chainsaw in the back seat and then get in the front seat. Then they drove away through the parking lot lane that goes away from the front door, where you could read their license plate the whole time as they drove away! The biggest part I remember of the whole thing was while he was walking out the store he was showing major butt crack! I though about it after the whole situation that I should have said "hey a$$ crack, stop"!
i run a large concrete construction company. buy tons of stuff from LOWES, couldn't get the help to take down bundle 2x4 and bundle of plywood $1800 worth of stuff, because the were filling order for the next day delivery. after asking a couple of time and a smart mouth answer later I BLOW IT! i chew butt for a living. there wasn't a person in a 8 aisle area that didn't know i was angery. manager shows up.no help. i luckily had a summary of all of my 2006 lowes purchases from all 8 of my lowes cards throwed the stack on the contracter counter with a bussiness card and announced that that was it for me and lowes. next day regional manager call wanting that $162,000 of bussiness back.
On a (sort of ) related note.... I had just installed a HiPo 350 engine in my getter truck(redneck ) and I was going to pick up some railroad ties for landscaping at Menards when it happened... I was so proud of my new found horsepower that I was revving the truck and may have squawked the tires just a bit(posi), this was in the yard area. When I went to leave through the yard gate, a employee with a TRAINEE tag came up to my truck window and told me that I better be more careful and slow down.... I stared him right in the eye and said, "So, you are new here". He nodded. I sped off.... Life is good!
