This seller is now advertising this same part again with 9 available. I sent them an E-m asking if these items were actually in stock this time as I still need this part. That was 2 days ago and no response. These people suck IMO and that is the bottom line...
I've sent it to them once, I have sent it yet again. I just can't beleive it. I have never run into anything like this. I sent a copy of all of this to Ames, with a letter of appreciation for their excellent customer service. Over the years, the vast majority of my purchases have been with them. If they have the item I need, I order if from them. Unfortunately, they do not carry this item...
Took a look at the op, and the way you choose to deal with it. Between that and quiet observation of the nature of your posts, I wouldn't want to do business with you either.
Sorry, but I don't see you as being reasonable if things didn't go 1000% your way.
Terry, I'll call you tomorrow. Just got in from a long day of travel...
Amervo, It figures there would have to be someone out there who would take the side of the fools in this case. 1000% huh, so if you paid for something up front that was advertised as a "buy it now", 9 in stock, then 6 days later were notified that the item was in fact not in stock when you made your purchase, then called names by the seller (a supposed "business") you wouldn't be upset?
Yea ok bud, I have some ocean front property in AZ as they say. Regardless of my attitude, ANY proffessional business would never have pulled a stunt like this in the first place, and if it did happen on accident would NEVER call the customer names and say the things that they have said to me UNDER ANY circumstance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I've ordered almost 10k in parts from Ames. I have had two issues. One with a pair of door handles that pitted after 10 months on the car. I called, they listened, called me back and told me to send them back and they would replace them!
Second, I bought and paid for a set of date coded spark plug wires. They only had one set left, sold them to me and then needed them for a show, told me they were on the way, the item never did ship. I called them and explained my situation. I later received a call from Steve Ames with an appology and my wires were shipped over night the next day. Then, at the Pontiac Nationals last summer, I met Steve Ames in person. I mentioned to him about the wires, he remembered exactly the situation and appoligized yet again.
I explained to him that the reason for me mentioning it to him was so that I could thank HIM for taking care of me, the customer. He thought it was crazy that I would thank him and he insisted that he was to thank me for the business.
That my friend is how a business should opperate, that is how a business suceeds! Just to clarify for you and others like you, it's called CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Does this seem petty and stupid? Maybe. Did it need to get to this point? NOPE. This type of "customer service" is only one reason this country is so screwed up. And then these businesses cry when they fail and blame it on fair trade etc. LOL
Amervo, if I had to guess at your occupation would it be a defense attorney by chance? Oh well, everyone is entitled to their opinion even if it is wrong...

having trained our dealerships customer satisfaction manager in 1985, I `d say thats excactly right! thats how a place treats customers! or should treat a customer...
That's why I do business with certain firms, like Eaton Detroit Spring Company. They live and breathe customer service, and I'm sure that's a major contributor to their survival for 80 or so years and counting.

this makes for some good reading. i pour concrete for a living. and customer are valueable. 20% of my work is return or refferals, by private individual. not other contractors. if joe blow wants a shop or driveway he'll pay 20% more for me, over tyrome and his buddies. but there is a difffence, mainly in, what is laying in your yard. if it's wrong, or has a [censored] finish. it will come out! at a big loss for me. but customer are valueable. if joe has a buddy, guess who he's going to suggest if he needes some mudd poured! SO SPREAD THE WORD! next time tell him to ship the part and you'll send the money. email to then follow six days later.
