We just dumped 5 gallons of $4 gas into the lawn tractor for the second or third mowing of the season. And it's rained like hell several days, so when the monsoon stops, the grass getter eats another tank that really belongs in the bird.
Two heat pumps burnt down over the winter. The third got an ebay compressor two years ago but it needs to be replaced too. I'm swamped with crap going bad on a 1991 house, so the bird has taken back seat. That's why I've been missing a while. Money for the bird is gone to the heat pump Gods for this year. Thankfully, I can do them myself since I have EPA license to touch freons and I've done this work before.
We found a spare use for the engine crane. Would rather the 400 be hanging by chains and going back in.
If anyone in Maryland has a strong back, I have some heavy HVAC gear to be moved to the basement, attic and yard. One is nearly done. The other is more than my wife and I can lift.
It looks like my bird will be neglected this season for lack of time and money.
I can relate. It looks like I will be moving again this summer and I may not get to my exhaust system installed before that.
It's gonna be LOUD putting it on the trailer!

Times are so tough around here people are getting their heat pumps and AC units stolen left and right. The thieves are stealing everything made of copper. They stole the ground wires off electrical poles...one thief got electrocuted!

I've had a run of it lately as well and it's really getting the cars way behind. Found some hidden termite damage under the house, the pool pump went kaput, liner needs replaced, garage gutters pulled loose and broke from our last monsoon, lost a lot of shrubbery due to last summer drought that we're having to replace, add in the normal spring maintainence and it's a bit hectic and expensive time right now.
But put it in perspective to all the families that are loosing entire homes due to all the tornados lately, our problems are a minor annoyance.
