I can't tell because I've never seen NOS GM stuff before. These were purchased from Ames Performance in NH 16 years ago. They are in their original GM boxes and there are no barcodes anywhere. The fenders are bare steel with no e-coat on them and of course have never been used. Are they newer old stuff or NOS?
These came with that convertible I just bought. I don't see a sticker on them but I have not taken them all the way our of the box either. Is it normal for them to have no primer on them at all? The fenders on my car are not bad at all. There is one small dent that I can easily fix on my right front fender. What are these worth? Should I sell them to help recover some of my initial investment or use them?
There are also new GM wheel opening moldings and rocker panel moldings in the old style GM wrappers too and a pair of headlight bezels. So I guess it makes the purchase price of my car a little easier to swallow.
Looks like NOS to me. The real deal. Not the new stuff with the bar code on the sticker. I bet you will find the GM stickers somewhere on them. Very nice pieces!
Of course it was! You bought it didn't you. You've been on the site talking about it since you got it. If it would have been a dud you would be sulking around at the corner bar wondering how you are going to dump it on an unsuspecting sucker! Rule of thumb is if it makes you smile it was a great deal....
If you buy a car and get hosed on the price, but still like the car, then it's still OK. But it makes it a little more pleasureable if you know you also didn't pay way too much like I thought I was doing when I got it.
don't listen to jim about the bar code stuff.if those fenders were still at the dealership and were not sold a while ago they would have got a sticker with a bar code so gm would be able to find it in their computer system.jim has gm parts he has held on to a long time and he is afraid he wont get as much money for it if he don't create a bar code scare

That's me with my cammer. The more I dug into it the worse it got. It came with a bunch of extras. Some I'm keeping, some I'll sell and some went to folks that needed a helping hand. I paid too much for it, but I still love my base 'bird.
These were bought from Ames Performance in NH so I don't think they would put aftermarket fenders into GM boxes and try and pass them off. I don't know how long Ames had them or where they got them before they sold them to the previous owner of this car. All I know is that they were shipped 16 years ago according to the packing slips.
On closer inspection, I don't think these are NOS.
Look at the open box pictures of the fender. They don't seem to have the inner brace that bolts them to the apron and the cowl. I'm bumbed. They apear more like a skin than a fender.

to me they look NOS, ...not knowing which brace you talk about...is that brace a separate piece? as far as I know ,theres really no "fender skin", just fender....and if they have been in these boxes all that time, the box says "fender" on it....the 69 fenders I`ve seen off my buddys car looked like that...
There is a large brace that runs just ender the hood lip that reaches down to the black fender iner wheel wells. The bolts for the wheel wells go through this brace. It;s not there on these fenders. Do the inner braces for these fenders come off? Or are they bolted in?

Easiest would be to ask Ames what they have sold 16 years ago. I´m sure they still know if they sold original GM parts and/or repros during this time... They normally sell parts out of their catalogs, no individual parts as Rick´s First Gen has done (now owned by Eckler´s, so these times are over, too...)
An original GM NOS fender would have the inner part that's missing on these. The GM boxes are a mystery. Any part numbers on the boxes? Without the original stickers it's hard to tell what they are.
