A couple years back I bought an NOS emblem for the nose of my 400 bumper on the 69. I think I paid $175. It was a happy day because it was such a cool piece. These are very hard to find... This spring when I took the 9 out for a bath I noticed that the lower 1/2 inch of the emblem had fallen right off! It's NOS leprosy! AHHHHHHHH, I'm mad.........
maybe you should have bought the bar coded one.your so called nos one turned out to be junk.rotflmao
Good point. But I wouldn't want you telling me it's real NOS and charging an arm an a leg for it. Then later find out it was just a reproduction you passed off as the real deal.

you mean like that reproduction core support that you are selling>?
IMPACT!!! Who did it???? I don't think there was any damage at all. It just cracked and fell off. Old rubber.....
anything back into it? it still has more cracks....would the old part get those without impact? I dont know since I dont have a 400 emblem on my "prevoiusly 350" , ..lol

Time for the slam dunk. I'll let the picture tell the story. Terry's fender for sale sticker with newer style bar coded sticker. My OLD STOCK core support below. You can see that I also have the dealershp sticker when it was delivered and it's 1992. Notice the GM sticker has no bar code before 1992. Any parts that were at the warehouse before 1992 didn't have bar codes.
WOW Tom! Mine was in the box until 2006. They say rubber degrades just like anything else organic. If they would have kept it in the fridge it would have lasted linger. It's amazing how much our emblems look alike.
I agree with Jim on the on the bar code thing as my wife deals in antiques and she has told me more then once when were out looking that if it has a bar ode in ain't old.
It would seem that it's because the vinal has broken down, based soley on time. I have an incorrect repro for the 8 on my car. It's been on since 87. Looks better than the new one that crapped out.
