Has anyone ever used Ohio Crank Shaft to build a stroker for a Pontiac 400? Are they reliable? I have read up on several other co.'s that offer strokers, however, they are not local (Detroit / Toledo area). Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. Does anyone know of any local engine builders that specializes in Pontiacs that uses the newest technology?
I've been researching this for a few years now. Seems there's 2, maybe 3 manufactor's over seas casting and forging cranks. Some are machined here, some there. Have found it's best to buy a kit ready to bolt in from a Pontiac shop/supplier unless you, and especially your machine shop has been down that road before.
There's an article in HPP a month or 2 ago regarding stroker kits. It gives a fairly comprehensive analysis of the available kits from, Butler, Ohio, Scat, Eagle, Kaufmann,etc...
If ya can't find it, ket me know.

The reason i rec'd a Pontiac shop like Butler's is because they know all the little things that need atension to make it bullit proof. Things like main and trust bearing fit(some need work). Rear seal area needs deburing if you go with a viton seal. And alot of times the rod ends need "slight" resizing.
