When you bid on an eBay item the shipping that you will be charged is right on the item page. No surprises at all. All you have to do is read it in bold script right below the item price. If you are searching items, or saving item to your My eBay, it also shows you what the seller is charging.
Why are people 'surprised' at what they get billed at the end of the auction then?
I have a little advice for anyone bidding on items on eBay; If you do not like the shipping charges that are clearly posted then do not bid. If you do decide to bid, then don't be surprised when you get charged exactly what the quote was that you saw before you bid.

LOL I can see complaining about a $100 charge when it cost $25. I had two complaints about $13 shipping from MI to AZ! How much cheaper can you get? Maybe a few dollars...

Yes, don't buy. Why the hell do you think I do little if any shopping on eRape? Whether or not the charge is fair, the additonal shipping charges make eRape a lousy way to shop for run-of-the mill stuff.

The point was that if you knew when you placed your bid the shipping was $13 it's not the time to start complaining about the bill for $13 when you already got your part and are writing out feedback. If you want to quibble over a few bucks then do it before you bid. Then I could have done something about it.

I like the shipping calculator better because if I were to ship an intake manifold to Ohio it would cost $15 and to Arizona it would cost $30. I like to pass the savings on to the customer if I can. But when you bend over backwards for people and they have to mention in your feedback that you made an extra $2.25 on them, it is frustrating. You would think that they would be happy to pay you the tiny amount extra. Heck, I tip my pizza guy more than that! Freakin' Cheap Skates!! laugh And how do you like it when they say, "Before I leave you feedback, I want address the shipping charges". That's extortion.

That is extortion and I would report it to eBay. I would also point out that they are trying to change the agreement of the contract that they bid on. Personally I think $1 or $2 extra is fair considering you have to package it and drop it off somewhere (or pay them to package it and pick it up). I'd consider it a handling fee. At least it's not a 2lb 1cu package going 2 states away for $30.

I had someone ask me awhile back if I wouldn't mind sending them the original shipping receipt before they paid for the item. WHAT?? Sure, I'll go ahead and ship before you pay for it. No prob. You're my good bud, right?
Priceless.
