Q, I have conversed some w/ Micke ( Sweden) , cannot remember the year of his car (I think it was 68??but not sure), but he does have an automatic...remember him talking about it had gone bad at some time....
Sweden, didn't I talk with you several months back, mentioning my time in your part of the world? I thought I found you on a website of yours showing your progress on your Bird? Ya, oder nein?

Sorry, I stand corrected. Its a fellow in the Netherlands doing a restore on a FGF. Nice fellow with alot of info on his website as well. He's on your side of the ocean and could be a source for parts too. His website is: http://www.rgp.nl/bird/hist.asp

Nashville , you talked to Gerrit Dijkstra, a friend ....he`s on the L list too, he had his car burn when his rental garage caught fire, no insurance , because it was a "project" they would not insure it......we , several people on the "list", chipped in and got him a good starting capital for a new project....he`s a great guy....I`ve been shipping parts to him sometimes ( avoiding customs = 25%...)
I once lived 'over there' too....came here to Texas in 68....
And Bob , yes, Swedes do understand German , we (at least used to) take English ,German and French in school...
Bob S, trust me, after 18 years in Europe I know that every country there understands German and English. Nobody, but NOBODY understands SWEDE except the Swedes, and they are quite proud of that fact! Its one of the most beautiful and unique countries in the world and they are a very proud people. I've spent my whole life all over this planet and have finally come home to the U.S. to settle down. Visited Sweden thrice, and enjoyed it immensely each time. Never saw a FGF there.....so our Swede member must be very popular when he drives that Firebird down the road!! He may be one-of-a-kind in his entire country. :p

Bjorn! You are right, it was Gerrit Dijkstra from the Netherlands! We conversed a great deal last year, and I felt so bad about how much it cost him to send and receive packages and mail. Europe is terrible in that aspect. I tried to figure a way for him to use my military APO address to save money but it was not possible from where he is. So you all know how good we have it here in the US: Sending Gerrit a 5-pound package costs about 40 dollars, where-as you sending ME the same package to my military address in Europe costs only 10 dollars. Go figure.

Nashville , I have over this site and a few others "met" about 7 or 8 FGF owners in Sweden... 2 yrs ago when home I saw a nice 67 or 68 red convertible driving the streets of Stockholm, I even saw it TWICE in the same week! never close enough to 'flag him down' though...
Hi. I dont no exect how many FGF it´s in sweden. But i´m a member in a club in sweden whith name Early Firebird Club Sweden. And we are around 80 bird´s there. It´s nice to meet other F-birds owner from f-bird´s motherland. I have already meet Bjorn Sefeldt and he is nice to talk whith (and easy to. Swe speaker). I´ll hope´s you understand me. I´m not so good at english. Jim! Tank you for the Photos
Jim, I'd be interested in those pictures too. I just took a holley off my 69 and replaced it with a quadrajet this weekend. I haven't hooked the throttle cable up yet because nothing reaches. The 68 should be similar enough to the 69 that I can get an idea of what I need to do.
