Any happy campers out there? I plan to be one for the next couple weeks. No computer while camping is one of my personal rules. Maybe I can get a nice picture of the 67 with the Mackinaw Bridge in the background. Will see you all on the flip side!

Thanks! Substitute the tent for a 30 foot motorhome and I'm there. Power, hot water, king size bed, a view of the lake, half a cord of oak with some specialty woods to mix in, you get the picture.

reminds me of camping up at Buffalo River in Arkansas a few years back...
but sold my pop up camper a few years ago...kids not interested anynmore ,wife hates camping (to her "roughing it is a stay at Holiday Inn!)...so sold it to a buddy who likes to use it.. that pop up , an Appleby, has been great...it was old in 1976 when I borrowed it the first time, camped all the way up thru NY to Canada and back...later bought it from my friend for $200...had it for 23 yrs, sold it for $200...great deal...
only bent the axle on it once, camping 50 mi north of Houston with the kids..
...but that trip wore out a new set of tires on it...lol
My body shop guy straightened it back out...it cought a small rutt that my car wheel went over, flipped the trailer upside down and came off the hitch...LOL

We have always enjoyed camping and have set up the tents on vacations in most of the 50 states (57 according to one Presidential candidate. ) Just cannot get interested in getting something metal to sleep in even though we are in retirement years. There is something about the "roughing it" that still holds onto us. We started by loading up the '68 Bird's trunk and back seat in 1971 (pic below). Through the 80's, 90's and '00s, GM conversion vans have better held all the stuff and family. This past Tuesday, we were up in the Colorado Rockies with the Prix (to save gas dollars). The tent in the '71 picture and the one in the '08 picture is the same. Many in-between years had bigger family tents but now that it's just the two of us again, the old Sears Hillary is just right. 1971 2008 Edit: One more from '72

Making me jealous! I had a great time when I took my 68 to Sleeping Bear Dunes for a week. Nice area! We like to stay at Interlochen on that side of the state. They have some great concerts there. There are a few other nice parks that we like over there too.

When we were first married (22 years today) we took my 440-6 pack 'Cuda across the state on a camping trip - 14' aluminum rowboat on the roof, outboard on the luggage rack, gas can and tent and sleeping bags in the trunk, cooler and clothes and fishing gear in the back seat.
Highly memorable, especially getting kicked out of a state park for too much noise...headers and Thrush Turbos.

Thanks! I realized that's one drawback of convertible ownership, nowhere to put the boat...

Tell me about it...I go up with good intentions of even working on the cabin up there, was up 5 days last week...hmmmm...cut the "grass"...had a few beer...watched the grass grow...a few more..couple of Petrone Margaritas...dinner....fly fished 2 days...
Needless to say nothing physical got accomplished..thats OK with me...
The real pity is that there is a 1 mile + gravel flour dust road in...so I don't want to take the bird up...daamm

Happy anniversary Yellowbird and Bjorn.
May 23rd was our 25th. She came out into garage Monday/Tuesday night and asked if i wanted to go out to dinner Friday night.
I asked; why? whats the occasion?
She said; you havent changed in 25 yrs.
