I have the DeWalt 18v series, two of them. I am very happy with them, they have been real workhorses, making short work of concrete drilling and more. I've built three decks, staircases, 2 sheds, one large chicken coop, wooden playscape, etc. with them.

Main thing is go for the higher voltage battery packs. Dewalt, Makita, Hilti, they are all fairly comparable...I currently have an 18v Ryobi and its been a real workhorse.
Personally, I have 18 volt dewalt cordless tools, but I've heard that Milwaukee are quite good. The ones with the lithium batteries (28 volt I think) rather than the Ni/Cad ones are highly regarded by someone I know who uses them alot for work. My dewalt do most of what I ask of them though.
You can't beat Porter Cable. I have 2 cordless drills, cordless circular saw, regular circular saw and router. They are top quality equipment...HOWEVER...there are times when I wished I had a smaller cordless drill/driver....like when I'm on the extension ladder boarding up before a hurricane. Depends on what you intend to do. DeWalt is always good(except their jigsaw).
