Suggestions/recommendations on applying sound deadening materail on interior floor pans and firewall needed. What products are available and which work best? looking for a peel and tack application rather than a spray on. Thanks
I used DynaMat (peel & stick). Installed it several years ago and I can not put into words just how much it helped quite the car down. No rumble, no droning etc. Highly recommend something like it. I put it on the entire floor and as well as the entire interior side of the firewall...

Yep, DynaMat is the whip. There is a less expensive product with the same quality as DynaMat. The PO of my Blazer covered practically the entire interior with it. It does make a big difference. I'll get the name of the stuff Tuesday, he's unavailable today.
I have a question about laying down the Dynamat. Did you keep the area under the tabs for the seats clear of the Dynamat or did you just keep the hole clear and bolt the tab right on top?
The reason I ask is doesn't the original tar insulation have those areas open for the tabs? The carpet I have has the padding on it already (with those tab areas empty of insulation).
I applied more sound deadening to my 68 this last year than any human likely ever should. I read the sound deadener showdown and researched just about all the materials. I ended up going with the Damplifier Pro as described in the showdown. then sound absorber over that. Overkill pro foams etc. I found the stuff pretty easy to apply with only a few sliced digits from the metal layer. stuck a few quick pics up to show the madness. My kids said it looked like an "easy-bake oven" for a while. Second Skin very good people to deal with. Although they should be for the amount I used. Sound Deadener pics
I used LizardSkin on my car. Very easy to spray, goes exactly where you want it, very little over-spray. I used the sound deadener and heat barrier. I applied it to the entire interior shell including the roof. LizardSkin doesn't add much weight if that's a consideration. I have two 69's and the difference is pretty amazing.
